Connect ChatGPT or Claude to FOCL

Settings → Integrations connects an outside AI assistant to your FOCL account, so you can talk to your weddings from ChatGPT or Claude: ask what is on a timeline, add shots, add family groups, and so on.

This is different from Ask FOCL. Ask FOCL explains how the app works and changes nothing. A connected assistant reads and edits your actual wedding data.

Connecting requires a paid FOCL plan. On Free the tab still opens, but connecting offers the upgrade screen instead. Once connected, a green Connected badge appears at the top of the tab.

ChatGPT

The row “Open the FOCL assistant in ChatGPT” opens the FOCL Wedding Planner GPT in a new tab. Available everywhere, including the phone app.

Claude

The row reads “Set up on desktop · how it works” and opens a Connect Claude panel. Two limits before you try:

• It only appears in a desktop web browser. The Claude row is hidden in the FOCL phone app and on narrow screens. If you only see ChatGPT on a phone, nothing is broken.
• Claude connects on claude.ai in a browser, and it requires a paid Claude plan (Pro, Team or Enterprise). Claude’s own mobile apps cannot add custom connectors yet. This is Anthropic’s requirement, not FOCL’s.

To connect:

1. In the panel, copy Your connection link.
2. Open claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Open Claude Connectors jumps you straight there.
3. Name it FOCL and paste the link.
4. In a chat, enable FOCL and sign in with your FOCL email and password.

Set up once and it stays connected.

What the assistant may do

When you connect, a FOCL consent screen asks what the assistant may do, as pills you can switch off: View weddings, Edit shot lists, Edit timeline, Edit people & party, Edit vendors, Edit locations, Manage documents, and Create & delete weddings. Accept all grants everything. Authorize selected grants only the pills left on.

Sign-in links expire quickly. If you leave it sitting and it stops working, start the connect again from your AI app.
